On the 17th June 2023 me and Rachel will be climbing the highest peak in Wales - Snowdon. It stands at 1085m high and will be a tough climb to reach the summit as it will be just over two years since I left the ICU on the 16th June 2021 having had 95% of a brain tumuor removed.
Fundraising
I will be doing the climb to raise money for the Brain Tumour Chairty which is an amazing charity and has supported me a lot.
This is a topic close to my heart and head and any ammount would be truley appriacted.
Brain Tmour Facts
- Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40
- Over 12,000 people are diagnosed each year with a primary brain tumour, including 500 children and young people – that’s 33 people every day
- Over 5,300 people lose their lives to a brain tumour each year
- At least 88,000 children and adults are estimated to be living with a brain tumour in the UK currently
- Brain tumours reduce life expectancy by on average 27 years – the highest of any cancer
- Just 12% of adults survive for five years after diagnosis
- In the last 40 years, not much has advanced in terms of treatment of brain tumours.
